The event
Every spring & summer season RSM Sailing club gives to every student a double opportunity to get most out of their weekends. For those that have affiliation with sailing or not the sailing courses are offered for the spring & summer period of the 2nd and 3rd Term. This year, RSM is offering training on the 24th and 25th of May.

This course is suitable for people that do not have previous experience in Sailing. The training will be held in a group of 5 people per boat. Each person will feel what are the basics of sailing and will have the opportunity to learn the parts of the boats, to understand the wind, to steer, to trim the sails and to use the ropes.

Location: Kralingse Plas (Lake)

Schedule:

9:00 – 9:30 : Arrival
9:30 – 10:00 : Basic Theory I (Points of Sail & Anatomy of a Sailboat)
10:00 –  12:30 : Sailing on Valk Boats
12:30 – 13:00 : Lunch (Drinks provided along with Sandwiches w/ Ham, Cheese & Hummus)
13:00 – 13:30 : Basic Theory II (Regatta Course and Buoy Rounding)
13:30 – 16:00 : Sailing on Valk Boats

The schedule is the same for Saturday and Sunday

Prices

1 class for €29 for a single day. In order to accommodate class schedules for all RSM cohorts, we recommend Full Time MBA students subscribe on Saturday, and since EMBA students can only join on Sunday, they should purchase the Sunday ticket.

After the end of the course students will have understanding of the wind and its influence on the sails and be ready to sail in a bigger boat as a crew. Advanced Regatta Training will be added to the calendar in a few months. Regatta trainings will be once per months.

Should you wish to pay via e-transfer directly on the RSM Sailing Club bank account, please before performing any transaction, please send us an email so that we can properly organize that.

If a bank payment is done without sending any email in advance, the RSM Sailing Club may reject the subscription.

The ticket is not refundable.
Only MBA students/alumni can participate to the events organized or sponsored by the RSM Sailing Club.

Our partner policy: Partners are welcome to the event, but we keep the maximum limit of 25% attendance for non-MBAs, as long as they are relatives to MBA participants. 

Tickets purchased by non-MBA members cannot be refunded! Please email us for any questions regarding this.
