The event

Hosted by London Business School and the Yacht Club of Greece, the LBS MBA Regatta (Global MBA Trophy) is a high profile, international sailing event that brings together top business men and women from across the world – alumni and students of the world’s best business schools.

Racing will take place in the waters of Faliron bay, with a starting point at Mikrolimano, providing the opportunity to the participants to enjoy the beautiful weather of Athens as well as visiting the historical places of Athens.

The Races

Division A racing one design Platu 25 racing boats.
Maximum 6 people on board. The boats will be moored at Mikrolimano.
The participation fee includes three rooms (2 people per room) at hotel in walking distance from Mikrolimano for 3 nights, April 19,20,21.

Division B racing boats tbc (approx 40 ft).
Maximum 8 people on board.
The Boats will be picked up from another marina and be moored at Microlimano.

• Flexible race course depending on weather conditions. 3 races maximum per day / upwind & downwind format
• Notice of Race to be made available to participants by April 19th via the event’s website

Tuesday April 17th
Division A practice day for individual crews, by arrangement with the regatta organisers

Wednesday April 18th
Division A practice day for individual crews, by arrangement with the regatta organisers

Thursday April 19th
10:00 – A Division Boat registration and pick up opens at Mikrolimano. Check point is the Secretariat of the Yacht Club of Greece (NOE) at the far end of Mikrolimano coast. A refundable deposit of EUR 500 will need to be paid. This must be paid in Cash
Note: Crew lists, two sailing licences and participation fee need to be sent to the Organising Committee prior to boat pick up.

12:00 – B Division registration and Boat pick up opens at Mikrolimano.

14:30 – Start of practice race
18:00 – Commentary on the practice race and briefing on the handling of Platu 25 boats at the Yacht Club of Greece (NOE) Lower Verandah Bar
19:30 – Opening Ceremony at the Yacht Club of Greece (NOE) clubhouse

Friday April 20th
08:30 – Breakfast opens at the Istioploikos restaurant on the marina for all sailors.
09:00 – Briefing and introduction to the race committee, details on the day’s event, skippers’ briefing at the Istioploikos restaurant, marina level.
12:00 – Start of first race! 3 races maximum, depending on weather conditions.
19:00 – Dinner at Michelin Starred “Varoulko ” restaurant in Mikorlimano

Saturday April 21st
09:30 – Breakfast opens at Istioploikos restaurant on the marina for all sailors.
11:00 – Start of first race! 3 races maximum, depending on weather conditions
19:30 – Start of the Award Cermony at the Yacht Club of Greece (NOE).

Sunday April 22nd
Boats check out

Other information:
Shower and restroom facilities at the facilities of Yacht Club of Greece (NOE).
Accomodation is on board the yachts (Division B) or at onshore hotels, The Mistral, or the Cavo D’oro.
Spectator boats can be made available upon request at a fee for non-sailing friends and guests.

Prices

Division A: Platu 25 racing boats with up to five crew per boat.
Registration Fee: €2,500
Additional fee for 6th crew member: €300

Division B: Jeanneau 49 with up to eight crew per boat.
Registration Fee: €3,750

The participation fee of includes:

• Hire of boat and engine hours
• Race entry fee and all race organisation costs (setting, racing & redress committees, judges, follow-up boat, emergency boat etc.)
• Overnight accommodation on board for the B Division boats (Thursday-Friday-Saturday)
• Overnight accommodation in a Hotel for A Division crew (Thursday-Friday-Saturday)
• Use of the members’ only facilities of the Yacht Club
• Free entrance to welcome party, including food and drinks
• On-shore breakfast for both days of the races
• Entrance to formal dinner and entertainment at the private venue hosting the formal award ceremony on the last day of races
• Prize giving
• Merchandise
• Availability of press
• Professional photos available post the event

Not included:

• A refundable deposit of 3000€ per boat

The ticket is not refundable.
The price includes a 5% Paypal fee. If the payment is performed via iDeal the price will be discounted by 3.5%.
Only MBA students/alumni can participate to the events organized or sponsored by the RSM Sailing Club.
If non MBA people buy tickets for the events, participation will not be allowed and the RSM Sailing Club will not refund the ticket.
